Vineyards
Granite Soils. Made from a very old, pre-phylloxeric vineyard on a small granite plateau (altitude 600m) in Freixo de Numão, 15km west of V. N. Foz Côa.
Vinification
The grapes are hand picked into small boxes, before being cooled and then pressed in a pneumatic press, without destemming. Cold decantation, followed by fermentation in temperature controlled French oak barrels and regular bâtonnage until one month before bottling, which took place in June 2021.
Aging
10 months in used French oak barrels, with regular bâtonnage.
