Vineyards

This wine comes from an old and forgotten non-demarcated region just south of the Douro border. Old vineyards (80-100 years old), high altitude (700m), granite soils, mixture of several red and white grape varieties, beautiful exposure to the East, and especially a group of people who cherish the vineyards as their grandparents did. This small project intends not to let this place disappear, nor its old vineyards be replaced by more productive ones.

Vinification

Grapes hand picked into small boxes, with perfect ripeness. Fermentation begins inside the grapes, and only then are the masses pressed and fermentation completed. Most of the wine is aged in stainless steel vats, only 20% of the wine is aged for 10 months in used French oak barrels.

Aging

10 months in stainless steel tanks (80%) and used French oak barrels (20%).
