Exuberant Port, with a distinct expression of the Douro Terroir. Deep violet color, with fresh and floral aromas very alive, on the palate has very fine tannins that give it a great structure. Balanced, very fine and with a long and very persistent finish.
Region
The grapes that originated this wine come from the best vineyards of Quinta de S. José, located in Cima Corgo, very close to the Douro River, with an altitude that ranges from 150 to 300 meters. Exposed to the north and with very schistose soil.
Vinification
Grapes harvested by hand into 25kg boxes, at their ideal point of ripeness, intending that they present a vigorous ripeness, leading to greater aromatic and polyphenolic concentrations. The grapes are cooled overnight to 10ºC, destemmed only at 50% before being crushed and sent to the winery. Maceration and fermentation for 5 days with constant treading (about 6 hours a day).
Maturation
The wine is blended and stored partly in casks and partly in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
