Quinta Seara d'Ordens
It was at the end of the 18th century, when the Leite family acquired a large piece of land near Seara de Poiares. Its owner, fascinated by the beauty of the site and its excellent location, promptly invested in access to the property and in the planting of vines, olive and almond trees. Years later, his son, despite being a career military man, never stopped worrying about the property and its evolution. Meanwhile, he became commander of the Lamego barracks, but even so he spent a lot of time on his property in Seara. During his absence from the barracks, soldiers were sent to Seara to receive orders from the commander. The people, admired by the passage of soldiers on horseback, asked:
– Where are you going?
To which the soldiers replied:
– We are going to Quinta da Seara to receive orders from the commander… And so, from that time on, the place was called ''Quinta da Seara D'Ordens''.
