Full-bodied and well integrated into the wood. Complex, hints of spices and aromatic herbs. An elegant acidity in a long and dry finish, of high aromatic intensity, with notes of orange peel, smoke, mint leaves, some chemical and toasted hazelnut.
Quinado wine is wine culture in its pure state, a rare classic reissued, much appreciated in Brazil and in the former Portuguese colonies in Africa. A story that began more than 40 years ago, when the former taster of the Poças Júnior house, Miguel Pinto Hespanhol, created Poças Quinado wine. The exact recipe is unknown, but it is known that it is a wine that mixes the characteristics of an old tawny with the bitterness of quinine and the aromatic exuberance of a set of essences that will have been used at the time of its elaboration. The pharmaceutical character is part of the life of this liqueur wine, flavored and with therapeutic qualities against malaria, arising from the quinine added in minimal doses, however already at this time it began to be considered a pleasure product, much appreciated as an aperitif, having thus acquired a great prestige.
