For Quinta de Valle Longo Vintage Port 2007, the grapes are hand-picked for small baskets and the winemaking is done using traditional methods. After a partial strip of the grapes, they are trod by foot in old stone “lagares” and the fermentation occurs with temperature control, being stopped by adding brandy (firewater). This wine is made with high aging potential, making it a great investment for aging.
Quinta de Valle Longo Vintage Port 2007 is made with a blend of the following grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão.
This vintage Port has a complex flavor profile with chemical and mineral notes, as well as wild fruit and a dry and austere style with fresh suggestions. When tasted, it has a ripe, round hand, with fine tannins and a long finish full of fruit and elegance.
The bottled should be kept in a horizontal position, at a constant temperature and away from direct light. When opened, it should be consumed in the same day as any wine kept, after it has been carefully decanted. Quinta de Valle Longo Vintage Port 2007 is best served at a temperature between 16-18°C.
This vintage Port pairs especially well with strong cheeses such as Stilton, Roquefort, or Gorgonzola. It also goes perfectly with dark chocolate or vanilla ice cream.
