Quinta de Valle Longo Vintage Port 2017 is a classic ruby port with an incredible potential for aging up to 30 years. This wine is made using traditional methods, with hand-picked grapes from a single harvest. The fermentation is temperature-controlled and stopped by adding brandy (firewater). The grape varieties used to make this port include Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and Tinta Barroca.
This port has an intense aroma of black floral notes and light minerality. On the palate, it is balanced with ripe fruit and tannins that ensure longevity.
Quinta de Valle Longo Vintage Port 2017 should be stored horizontally in a cool and dark place with a constant temperature. As the wine ages, some natural sediment may form in the bottle, so it should be carefully opened and decanted before serving. The wine should be consumed at a temperature between 16ºC to 18ºC. Once opened, it should be enjoyed in one day.
This port pairs nicely with strong cheeses such as Stilton, Roquefort, Danish blue or Portuguese Serra, and can also be served with fruit or chocolate desserts.
