Vista Alegre Fine Tawny Port is made using traditional methods of winemaking. After a partial strip of grapes, the grapes are lightly crushed and then follow a fermentation with skin maceration. The fermentation is done with temperature control and is stopped by adding brandy (firewater). The entire process is supervised by a team of oenology experts who carefully assess the grapes, their level of maturation, and the sweetness desired.
The grape varieties used for Vista Alegre Fine Tawny Port are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão.
Vista Alegre Fine Tawny Port has a red color with strong brownish nuances. It has a fresh and delicate aroma, with a hint of spices and dried fruits due to the maturation in oak casks. It has an elegant, persistent, and smooth flavor that lingers on the palate.
