Young, fresh and with a complex aroma, it shows intense fruit in which blackberry and plum intersect in the spice of the wood. Silky, half-bodied mouth, its acidity delivers depth and length. It finishes reactive and with memory, firm and juicy tannins.
Winemaking
Very ripe fruit. Fermented without stems, at controlled temperatures, with frequent pumping over. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Blended to balance varietal fruit and oak complexity.
Cortes de cima
Cortes de Cima is a family estate, with vineyard and olive grove, located near Vidigueira in Alentejo, the southernmost demarcated wine region of Alentejo, which has been a vine growing area since the times of the Roman invasion. The Romans used “Talhas” (large vases or amphoras) for the fermentation and storage of wines, a custom still used today, hence our label has a Talha as a symbol. Ancient olive groves, with olive trees over 2000 years old, share the land with lemon trees, vineyards and Roman ruins.
