This single harvest Port wine originates from hand-picked grapes and is made using traditional techniques. Following a partial strip of the grapes, the grapes are trod by foot in old stone “lagares” and controlled fermentation is stopped by adding brandy. With strong aromas of raisins, dry fruits and some vanilla, it has a tawny with orange nuances colour and a smooth, silky texture. It has been matured in oak casks for a minimum of 7 years and should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening. It is best served at 14-16°C and is delicious with coffee, chocolates, desserts like crème brulee and fruit pies, or desserts with chocolate.
Vista Alegre Colheita Port 2004 is a single harvest wine rich in history with a long aging potential. It is produced using the traditional Port Wine making process, which includes hand picking of the grapes, a partial strip, and foot-treading in old stone “lagares”. After fermentation has taken place and the temperature is carefully controlled, brandy is added to stop the process. This wine is then matured in oak casks for a minimum of 7 years before it is bottled.
Vista Alegre Colheita Port 2004 is made using a combination of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão grapes. These grapes are carefully selected for their bold, flavorful characteristics.
This tawny wine with orange nuances has a well balanced flavor and good acidity and freshness. Aromas of raisins, dry fruits and some vanilla can be detected when tasting. Vista Alegre Colheita Port 2004 has a smooth and silky texture with a long finish.
For long-term storage, it is best to keep this wine in an upright position, at a constant temperature and away from intense direct light. After opening, it should be consumed within 6 to 8 weeks. Vista Alegre Colheita Port 2004 should be served at a temperature between 14°C and 16°C.
This single harvest wine pairs well with coffee or chocolates and is a perfect accompaniment for desserts like crème Brule or fruit pie. It is also delicious with desserts made with chocolate, nuts, or dried fruits.
