Soalheiro Nature has an intense golden yellow colour. The aromas reveal minerality and fruit, even if no sulphites have been added. The flavor is complex, arousing curiosity and enthusiasm. Soalheiro Nature reveals a mouth-watering acidity, a smooth and voluminous texture, which results from complete malolactic fermentation. The aftertaste is intense and persistent. When, moments before serving, the lees are gently mixed in the wine, it becomes even more voluminous in the mouth.
Terroir
A very specific microclimate influences the growth of Alvarinho grapes. The region of Monção and Melgaço is protected by a series of mountains that promote the ideal conditions of precipitation, temperature and number of hours of sun for the best ripening of Alvarinho. The soils are granitic and the vineyards are certified in organic production, which facilitates the production of a wine without the need to add sulphites. The agricultural practices used stimulate biodiversity and protect the wine ecosystem, promoting environmental sustainability.
Winemaking
The Alvarinho grapes are harvested by hand in the vineyards of Quinta de Soalheiro. The wine is fermented in stainless steel without the addition of sulphites. It is then subjected to a complete malolactic fermentation that will contribute to the stability of the wine. Soalheiro Nature is bottled without filtration, which means that bottled wine is subject to deposit. This deposit is essential to protect the wine from oxidation and to promote its stable evolution in the bottle.
Follow-up Suggestion
Soalheiro Nature is a wine that gives greater pleasure when paired with food. Its round body and unique flavor make it the perfect wine to pair with hot dishes. We recommend fatty fish dishes, lamb, duck, roast chicken and also dishes that include cream sauce or mushrooms, such as a delicious risotto. Pairs perfectly with cured cheese.
