The aroma is concentrated, with notes of black fruit and spices. In the mouth it is full-bodied, with a complex flavor where the black fruit stands out and has intense but well integrated tannins that give the wine a long and fresh finish. It is a very gastronomic wine.
Vineyard
Trufa Negra is a wine produced with grapes from two vineyards located in the sub-region of Cima Corgo. The first, in Valença do Douro, is an old vineyard (over 70 years old) with a blend of approximately 30 autochthonous grape varieties. It is between 300 and 350 meters high and faces north. The second, at the mouth of the Távora River, is about 30 years old and has a mix of grape varieties where Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz predominate. It is between 100 and 150 meters high and faces east. It is situated between 100 and 150 meters of altitude and faces east.
Vinification
After careful manual selection on the picking belt, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in a granite press with foot treading for 7 days.
Aging
After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for 16 months in used French oak barrels.
