This port is made from a combination of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Tinta Barroca grapes and aged in oak barrels in Vila Nova de Gaia for at least seven years. It has a blond-red color and aromas of wild berries and blackberries. On the palate there are tannins and hints of vanilla and the finish is persistent and fine.
The Messias Colheita Port 2003 is a vintage port that impresses with its quality and taste. This port is the result of a careful winemaking process. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place at 24/28°C, and when the desired sweetness is achieved, the fermentation is stopped with the addition of 77% brandy. The port is then aged in oak barrels for at least seven years in the warehouses of Vila Nova de Gaia. During this time, the taste and aromas of the port intensify, creating an exquisite experience for your palate.
The Messias Colheita Port 2003 is made with four exceptional grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Cão. The blend of these grapes gives the port a blondish-red colour and aromas of forest fruits and blackberries. On the palate, these flavours are confirmed, accompanied by tannins and subtle notes of vanilla. The aftertaste is persistent and delicate.
You can enjoy this vintage port at any time, with or without food. It should be served cool, between 9 and 14°C, and it doesn't require decantation as it is already filtered. This port stays drinkable for up to three months if you keep it in a cool place.
The Messias Colheita Port 2003 is a great accompaniment for cheese, desserts, and other dishes. It is also enjoyable on its own. It is important to note that this port contains sulphites, so those with allergies should take precautions.
