CLIMATE:

The climate was characterized by a dry winter and a warm spring. Despite the climate instability felt during the summer, this season turned out to be particularly cool, allowing a balanced ripening of the grapes.

VINIFICATION:

The grapes come from two plots of 40 year old vines: 60% from a Touriga Franca plot with southwest exposition and 250m altitude and 40% from a Touriga Nacional plot with northwest exposition and 150m altitude. Both soils are schistose, with little soil and lots of stone. After the manual harvest in 25kg boxes, the grapes remain in cold storage for 12h. The vinification was done in a wine press with foot treading for 5 days. During the winemaking and aging process until bottling, this wine did not undergo any kind of filtration or other type of treatment.
