Adega Cooperativa de Barcelos

Founded in 1962, the Adega Cooperativa de Barcelos initially gathered 51 winegrowers, with the main goal of encouraging the production and marketing of vinho verde in the municipalities of Barcelos and neighboring municipalities, within the sub-region of Cávado. Its founders, men who believed in the superior quality of the wines produced in the region, had an extraordinary will to achieve an important joint force in the production and marketing of Vinhos Verdes, which were increasingly produced with greater quality.
