Quinta de Vale Fornos Touriga Nacional Reserve

One of the oldest and most remarkable Quintas of the Tejo Wine Region. This property was originally offered by D. Antónia Ferreira (Ferreirinha) as a dowry for the marriage of her daughter to the 3rd Count of Azambuja. Located in the confluence of the Lisbon and Tejo wine regions, it has a magnificent terroir for the creation of superior quality wines. This wine is a monocaste of the Portuguese grape variety Touriga Nacional.

Vinification and Aging

The harvest is done manually in 20kg baskets and with a careful selection of the grapes. The wine was fermented in traditional granite presses. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is transferred to stainless steel vats until the malactic fermentation is over. It was then aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months.
