Vinification
Manual harvest. Fermentation in wine press with foot treading. Addition of grape brandy. Post fermentative maceration. Pressing and further aging in wooden barrels. Aging: The various lots age in wooden oak barrels of various formats until the formation of the lot.
Harvest Year
The first Moscatel from the Douro to have this age designation. The wine comes from several lots of muscatels, all from Favaios, that aged in old wooden casks.
Secret Spot Moscatel
Secret Spot Moscatel of the Douro 40 years old, was the first Moscatel to appear with an age designation. A final blend created from others that aged in used wooden casks. The vines from which it was made are 100% Moscatel Galego Branco, aged between 20 and 50 years. It presents a deep amber color with complex and rich aromas, seductive notes of dried fruits and spices. It reveals a balanced acidity and a silky and harmonious aftertaste. To produce the best wine, it is necessary to create the best conditions. The first step was to find an accessible winery, with a mild climate, high altitude, spacious and well sized, that could combine the traditional Douro winemaking practices with the contributions of modern oenology. Thus, Secret Spot Wines was born, a project of Quinta da Faísca, which is located in the Favaios region of the Douro. Producers of a diversified and quality range, they present products such as wine, muscatel and olive oil.
