Vinicola Decordi was founded in 1921 as a family-run local restaurant whose menu offered typical local products. In the historic inn, Quirico Decordi Sr. vinified a few barrels of red wine, such as Fortana, Ancellotta and Lambrusco, the ideal companions for local cuisine, which were served with great success.

This success led the Decordi family to focus more on wine, opening a small artisan production, paying attention not only to the vinification of typical grapes, but also to the sale of bottled and bulk wines.

In 1937, Vinicola Decordi was registered with the Cremona Chamber of Commerce. In 1950 the first factory was built, with a capacity of over 3 million liters, sold mainly in demijohns and 1.50 liter bottles.

The business grew, and soon the local trade spread to neighboring areas, both in Lombardy and Emilia Romagna. In 1964 "Vinicola Decordi" grew, equipping itself with one of the first automatic bottling plants in existence.

In the seventies, new stores began to spring up which, alongside the classic restaurants, offered different varieties of food with a greater demand for suitable wines. In 1973, Quirico Decordi joined the company and, inspired by his passion for wine, developed a new high quality line for restaurants.

To meet the growing demand for wine, in 1978 Quirico Decordi invested in technology, equipping the company with a new automatic system for sterile bottling, a system that is still considered the most efficient on the market.

In the 1980s, the first exports to Europe and the United States began, and in the 1990s exports were extended to Japan.

In 2005 the fourth generation joined the company, with the arrival of Alessandro, Quirico Decordi's son, and then in 2017 with Giulia, his daughter. The company is now ready for new challenges and to grow its production structure. Thanks to the opening of the new headquarters, Vinicola Decordi can concentrate on serving all the new markets in developing countries.

Today, despite being a modern and prestigious company, Vinicola Decordi continues to maintain a link with its history.

The old inn, where grandfather used to bottle wine for the locals who would stop for a glass in good company, is still the place where the Decordi family loves to welcome guests and prestigious clients.
