Madre de agua Alfrocheiro is a wine with aromas of red fruit notes combined with spices. The relationship between tannins, acidity and structure is great class giving it a unique balance. Aged in used 500l barrels for 12 months.

Absent from the old books of grapes, Alfrocheiro was thought to be a recent grape in our territory. Today science demonstrates that it is one of the oldest, parent to old grapes like Castelao or Moreto. Very concentrated aroma, with oak notes, from its ageing in oak barrels, blackberry, tobacco and spices hints. It’s full-bodied, fleshy with an excellent acidity. Mineral, fresh and long  finish that presents blackberry flavour.

Purple color and quite deep, very complex and distinctive aromas where initially predominates the fruity and floral character, characteristic of the variety, noting later some spicy hints of wood. In the mouth it shows fruit, complexity, great balance and harmony with high level tannins that give a long finish.

Open color reminiscent of wines from cold climates, it has a very fine and elegant bouquet, with floral notes well complexed with fresh fruit. In the mouth it is deceptively light as it is intense and full of character.
