Slightly fruity on the nose, as a result of only 4 years in casks before being transferred to Demijohns. Showing early stages of bottle maturation, with hints of tobacco and delicate candied fruit. Dark and youthful in colour for its age, now showing wonderful bottle age aroma on the nose, interspersed with a soft mint character. On the palate, the Vintage 1987 is very fine, shows good richness and a long finish.

Appearance marked by a dark purple, with aromas of black currants and sweet dark cherries, spices, and soft floral notes of violets. Very firm on the initial palate, with superb acidic freshness and dark fruits prominent on the mid-palate, along with fine, grainy tannins, which gives it a long, silky, dry finish. This is a Port wine suitable to be stored in cellars for a long period.
